Sneakers can get dirty quickly, especially when you live in a city or love to explore nature. But with a few simple tools and techniques you already have at home, you can make your Fullup. sneakers look as good as new in no time. Here’s an easy step-by-step guide to get you started:

Clean your sneakers in the washing machine

Want to ensure your sneakers go the distance and reduce waste in the process? Take good care of them, and your Fullup. sneakers will be your greatest companion for years to come. Follow these four quick steps next time you need an instant refresh.

  1. First, remove the laces and insole. Since the insoles are extra delicate, they can’t go in the washing machine.
  2. Place the shoes and laces in the machine.
  3. Use a mild detergent, then choose the delicate cycle and a warm temperature (below 30°C/86°F).
  4. Let your shoes air-dry for a few hours or overnight, and you’ll be ready for your next adventure.

Clean your Fullup. sneakers by hand

If your shoes are particularly scuffed up, start with a more in-depth cleaning before popping them in the machine.

First, you’ll need a few tools:

  • A bowl of cool water
  • Mild soap or speciality shoe cleaner
  • A couple of washcloths or microfiber cloths
  • A soft brush – we recommend using a suede shoe brush, but an old toothbrush works well, too

Next, get to work:

As Fullup. sneakers have a delicate knit upper, we recommend taking your time and using gentle but firm brush strokes. If you scrub too hard, you could snag the yarn and damage the upper.

  • Add about a teaspoon of soap to the bowl of water.
  • Remove the laces and insole.
  • Stuff the shoe with a washcloth or small towel to keep the shoe steady and absorb liquid as you work.
  • Dip your shoe brush or toothbrush in the soapy water, then firmly but gently scrub the upper and work the cleaner into the shoe.
  • Once your shoes look clean, dip a washcloth in clean water and wipe off the soapy residue. Repeat as needed.
  • You can also clean the insole using the same soap and brush.
  • Let the shoes air-dry for a few hours or overnight. If your shoes need a little more love, put them in the washing machine or repeat the manual technique.
